As an Independent Contractor John has worked hard and made his investment in his future with this purchase. John hopes to see increased fuel mileage along with less breakdowns. This is the first 2014 tractor on the Overbye Transport fleet. Congratulations John!!
Congratulations to John on the purchase of his 2014 Kenworth.
Overbye Transport recently had a graphic made up for each branch of the Military. We would like to show our support to those brave men and women of the Armed Forces. All contractors who have served are being contacted and given the graphic per their branch of service. Below are the graphics chosen. When you see these graphics on a truck, be sure to give a smile and wave. Thank you Veterans!!
Here is the final 4 graphics for our Military Veterans
Many of the owner operators I talked to prior to their leasing to Overbye Transport told me the recruiters they talk to from other companies had no idea of what it took to be a business man. The recruiters were reading from a script they had in front of them.
Owner operators today are just too smart for this. They survived the tough years since 2008 because they were smart…not lucky. So, having been an owner-operator myself for 12 years, I can relate to their situations. Those contractors realize it isn’t the gross revenue but the money they get to keep that really counts … and that is what we talk about here at Overbye Transport.
There is an old saying…”Figures can lie … and liars can figure”. The good contractors know the difference. They are the guys I want to talk to.

The hand-held cell phone ban is NOW in effect….As of January 3, 2012
A review of the DO’s and DON’TS while driving:
You cannot hold a mobile telephone to conduct a voice communication.
You cannot send or receive a mobile telephone call by pressing more than a single button.
You cannot reach for a mobile telephone in a manner that requires a driver to maneuver so that he or she is no longer in a seated driving position with the seat belt on and adjusted.
You cannot text while driving or cannot read a text while driving.
You cannot use GPS cellular function.
However, you can use a hands-free mobile telephone while driving (a Blue Tooth or similar headset device) with the cell phone in close proximity to the driver. Driving means: Operating a CMV on a highway, including while temporarily stopped because of traffic, traffic control devices or other momentary delays. Driving does not include when the driver has moved the vehicle off the highway and stopped in a location where the vehicle can safely remain stationary.

We are excited to welcome back Brian R to Overbye Transport. It is always nice to see a former Overbye Transport owner operator return to contract with us.
Prior to his first experience as an owner operator for Overbye Transport in December of 2008, Brian worked for other trucking companies as a company driver. After contracting with Overbye Transport for 2 ½ years he chose to seek other opportunities with trucking companies contracting owner operators. It is very nice to have Brian come back to Overbye Transport after only 8 months. During this period he contracted with 2 other trucking companies trying to find his way in the owner operator world. Brian stated the reason why he chose to come back to Overbye Transport was because, “They are well organized, the dispatchers are flexible, and the people are very friendly.”
With the winter weather finally in Minnesota what are you doing to ensure the truck stays running? Make sure you keep an eye on all fluids and filters, as many can freeze. Check your tires to make sure the air pressure is always right. Keep an eye on the wheels to make sure they are rolling after you take a break. We don’t want any flat spots on the trailer tires. Keep these couple things in mind and drive safe.
A warm Welcome to Mike K from Erlanger, KY
